Hi, where is the best place to park for easy access to the bay please ? My mum has mobility issues so would prefer her time on the bay rather than walking 4o mins to get to the bay for example. Would low Newton car park or in embleton be best? Thank you. Also is it a hilly walk from either of these two?

Hi Low Newton would be best you could drive right down to the beach drop her off then go & Park in the carpark. From Embleton it’s quite a walk & the last bit is through the sand …

I have little more to add, except most people do not choose to swim. They walk, birdwatch, build sandcastles, enjoy each other's company.

It is a short run across the bay and, as said previously, it is about 2,5/3 moles. The sands are reasonably firm too. There is a coastal path to Dunstanburgh Castle which is good but …
