We open for the season on Tuesday, May 29th. and close for the season on Sunday, September 30th. ’18. We are open 7 days a week from 10 am to 6 pm with the final tour going into the mine at 5 pm. We follow the boat schedule which means tours are generally on the hour. The tour takes between 45 minutes to one hour. You do not have to pre-book unless you have a group of over 10 people. Please wear a jacket or warm sweater, as it is 6 degrees in the mine. Also, please wear comfortable walking shoes or sneakers. It is a walking tour that goes down 650 feet on a 10 degree slope. When you leave the ferry on Bell Island, please follow the signs with the Miners' Helmet that says No. 2 Mine Tour. There are, usually, two ferries operating. The schedule can be found on the government website. We look forward to greeting you.

There is no booking required. First, the ferry to Bell Island is on a first-come, first-serve basis, but as the ferries are typically running non-stop, the wait time is like 40 minutes or so, probably less. Same with the museum and mine tour - while waiting for your tour, you can visit the museum, which, while small, has some interesting items.
