The 8 year old might be pushing it a little. If he/she has never experienced moderate trail riding, it might be a bit much. They do have an “intro to downhill” course for about $50, which covers the bike rental and all the gear for a 2 hour or so Introduction for someone who is unsure of their capabilities. This spares you from wasting big money on a lift ticket and rental, should said person decide it’s not for them. I would highly recommend you enroll both children In the class before going with the full package.
