Drove especially but Closed. Only open from end Sept to end Oct. Is stated in some brochures but not everywhere. Partly our fault for not researching better but just giving others a heads up. Full review by Leonie M

Hi there. We went on 27 October 2019. The tulips were past their peak and it was raining but still a magnificent display that we really enjoyed. They provide free gumboots for wet weather which I recommend as the soil is dark red and sticky. Personally I would avoid the height of the festival as the crowding will be immense and the roads are narrow. Depends how much you like crowds I would think. If going again I would aim for the weekend just before or just after the festival itself. Note that they do have a cafe but is very small with limited selection - taking a picnic probably a good idea and not far to the lighthouse where there are places to sit and lovely views across the tulips as well as out to sea. Definitely recommend this as a place worth visiting.
