Choosing between here and Tam Coc was weather dependent. One and a half or three hours? How long could we sit on a boat if it rained or continued to be cold and breezy? Fortunately, it was milder and… Full review by LaNyonsaise

Actually it will depend a lot on your time budget. You have at least 3 hours, or just about 2 hours for the tour? 1. Trang An: will take more than 3 hours to finish, and while they have 3 options, I personally recommend the 1st (also the longest) path. You will have chances to cross many historical places and caves. If you are lucky and join the tour in the early morning, you might be able to enjoy some scenario with you, you only and I ensure you will love it, it likes going back to thousand years ago :)) 2. Tam coc: the trip will shorter and apparently less sightseeing places. However if you are in short of time, this will be better. Also Trang An is easier to access and is surrounded by many restaurants and homestay ;)
I would like to stay overnight but all the tours come from Hanoi how do I do the trang an boat trip early

We booked a private car and driver from Vietnam Budget Car Rental (see their website). They drove us to our hotel and picked us up a couple of days later. Not expensive. If you want an absolutely charming place to stay at a budget price, I would recommend Tam Coc Bungalows. Do take the trip to the Trang An Caves.
Does the tour allow young kids .. mine is 7 Yrs but a monkey. Also how long are the tours ? Can we return to Hanoi the same evening? Is there appropriate food stalls on the starting shore?

Hi, they allow children, they have aircoat to wear for the tour. They have three differents route which may last 3-4hours depends on how long you take picture also. If you don’t go other site then can be back to Hanoi soon. I don’t see food along the rivers but yes on ground they have.
Hi! I want to know what is better, to visit Thung Nang or Trang An. We like to see nature and ruins. I'm going with my mother and grandmother in December and I need to pick one of the tours. We have all details finalized, we just need to choose. Thanks so much!
