Hello! I was advised to skip Pena Palace (due to the crowds *_*) So, I am thinking of adding Monserrate palace in addition to the Quinta de Regaileira. I was wondering how much time does it take to tour the palace itself. Also, we are arriving by a charter bus, how far is the parking from the entrance to the palace? Difficult walk?

Its quite a distance to the house down a steep valley through stunning gardens, however there is a hop on hop off buggy thing that takes you if you don’t want to walk . The house itself isn’t that big you could probably go round in an hour . I was there longer because i was enjoying the gardens which are idyllic - think garden of eden.

Alternatively there's a circular route bus that drops off and picks up from Monserrate back to Sintra's railway station where a change of bus is required to get to Cabo de Roca.
