We stayed in Hana at a place called Joe’s for $120 a night for a single and a double bed. Don’t expect much as most places are very expensive. You’re essentially just renting a room, but you do have access to the kitchen, dining room, and patio. It’s under new ownership with repairs ongoing.
Is it possible to drive from my hotel in Wailea to the Haleakala crater and the 7 scared pools in 1 day?

That would be a long hard day with all that driving but you could definately do it. The pass for the park is good for 3 days so I would recommend splitting it into 2 days.
