Napoleon is a town in Jackson Township, Ripley County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 234 at the 2010 census. Napoleon was laid out in 1820. The town was named in honor of Napoleon, a French General and Emperor. A post office has been in operation at Napoleon since 1821.
