Yes, Kumrat is absolutely safe. But you may face road blockage due to snowy season. Chaooni Restaurant provide good camping facility + quality food.

It is not recommended to travel these days. If you travelling from Islamabad you will travel about 90KMs on M1 and then about 60KMS on Swat Express way. No problems on this route …
It is not recommended to travel these days. If you travelling from Islamabad you will travel about 90KMs on M1 and then about 60KMS on Swat Express way. No problems on this route at all. The trouble starts later. From Islamabad the distance is about 390 kms and the last 60 kms patch is very bad which take about 4 hours in normal circumstances. You can take your car till Thal bazar but afterwards, you need a 4x4. There are facilities to park your car at Thal and rent a 4x4 which takes you into the valley. There are very few hotels in the valley and mostly camping sites, better to have an advance booking. Happy & Safe Travelling.
