This is a must while in Venice. It isn't a huge site, but it is full of history and beauty. It is a self-guided audio tour that will take your breath away. Get there early and pre-purchasing your ti…Full review by 35marciac

We didn't go to a concert as there was not one on while we there. We did go for a visit and a tour around. It is just stunning particularly if you are aware that the whole place burnt down in 1996 an…Full review by Anthony P

Hi, We're hoping to book to see Don Giovanni this year at Teatro La Fenice. We've tried to look online at sights like viewfrommyseat etc but the results are limited. I've also emailed the venue but no reply. We'd like to understand what the view would be like from the seats and if we'd be able to see the English subtitles above the stage from these seats. Also it would be good to know if there are any obstructions as we've seen some reviews online that say the view is limited? The three seating options that we are looking at are below Stall A - Row N 3 Palchi - Box 8 2 Palchi - Box 8 Any help on the above and also recommendations for a nice place for evening meal prior to the opera would be appreciated. TIA

I'll answer to the best of my ability but I'm no expert on the seats at La Fenice: I would personally opt for a stalls seat as there are no pillars to obstruct your view although you just don't know about the size of the people who'll be sitting in front of you. I understand that unless you have seats in the front row of a box it is difficult to see the stage. Basically, buy the best seats you can afford. I saw an opera at La Fenice's sister theatre, The Malibran, and could see the subtitles easily but as it was a German opera and the subtitles were in Italian I was none the wiser as I don't speak either language! Perhaps just read about the story before you go and sit back and enjoy the music, singing and the atmosphere. Regarding restaurants, I'm afraid we don't usually eat in that area of Venice as we're more familiar with the Cannaregio district and that is a bit too far away from La Fenice. However, I will ask my sister-in-law who stayed close to La Fenice last year and if she recommends a restaurant I will post the suggestion on tripadvisor.

I need help and advice about attending a concert in Teatro La Fenice: I will have just one night in Venice and I will arrive around 19:30 (Marco Polo airport) in the evening and I am wondering it is possible for me to attend a concert that will start at 20:00 in the same evening? Will it be a problem coming late? How about the dress code since I won't be able to carry any fancy or formal clothes? Should I buy ticket in advance or try my luck in the theatre? Thank you

Have not attended on opening night, but below is the published dress code for the beautiful theater: On the Opening Night of the Season, black tie (tuxedo) is recommended. On the other première nights a formal dress is recommended for ladies and suit and tie for gentlemen. On the other evenings, button-down, shirt and jeans are allowed. For the afternoon performances the dress code is fairly relaxed and is smart-casual, but PLEASE NOTE that people wearing shorts or sleeveless T-shirts will not be allowed inside the auditorium; in this case, tickets will not be reimbursed. Have fun!!
Q:
How long is the audio tour?
A:
depending on your level of engagement: 60-90 minutes, id say.
