But the most popular among people is that it is named by the English after a woman who was the first resident of the area. It is said that she served them well and they named the place after her as a reward for her services. Another famous story is that it is named because of a stone found there called Firoza. But this does not seem likely as there is no sign of any such stone. Most probably the 1st logic is very close to the fact behind the name of city. Some competent source shows the city was 1st developed after Pakistan gained freedom from British Rule in 1947s.
