I write this review hating the fact that outside of a plane, this is the only option to visit this NP. Hollywood was the lead guide and did a great job imo, rest of the crew seemed a little more unh… Full review by mikeflood7

A great experience even with terrible weather! The crew was upbeat and informative. Definitely buy the Dramamine! Would love to go back in the summer when we could enjoy the snorkeling. Full review by dianerE8445GY

The crew on this boat were incredible. We had some rough seas and they helped every passenger with grace. They were kind, fun, and helpful to everyone! Views of the water and education of islands etc… Full review by Carey G

Questions & answers

Q:
What do you do with your stuff while snorkeling?
A:
You leave it on the beach. The only people on the island are the park rangers and the other passengers from the boat. Nothing gets stolen, and the beach is always in sight.

Hello, I would very much love to know how to find a pilot to Dry Tortugas? I'm thinking of taking my 80 year old Dad and maybe do some snorkeling. Know the boat ride there would be too long. Wondering if there is better snorkeling in the Keys as some folks gave bad reviews for snorkeling at Dry Tortugas. Linda

I plan to take the ferry day tour to Dry Tortugas. For someone who can't swim, how much fun will I miss out? Anyone know if the tour provide life vest along with snorkeling gears? Maybe I can try snorkel in shallow waters.

The tour company does provide snorkeling gear and I believe you need to reserve it so they can have it prepared for you. But if you don’t swim or haven’t snorkeled before I’d suggest just enjoying the walk through the fort (there isn’t enough time to walk the whole thing) , watch the birds in the sanctuary right on the island and bring a towel to sit on the beach. Don’t waste your time on something new and dragging the equipment around for this trip. Just enjoy the flight!

Two questions: On a rough day, would you recommend the seasick prescription patches for those prone to motion sickness? And, if you went during Covid, are masks worn indoors on the boat?
A:
Yes to both questions. Mask are required while you are on the boat. I definitely recommend some type of motion sickness medics if you are prone to it. I usually use the patch but …

Q:
We will be camping in April 2022 for 3 nights. We were there back in the 90’s and remembered seeing fishermen coming to camp to trade there fish for liquor. Has anyone who has camped there recently know if this is still happening?! Also how are campers boiling water, since we are limited to self lite charcoal or sterno? Does the ferry provide tubs to store food and gear in?! Thank you Tonya
A:
We came on the ferry in July, and I don't think they provided storage. We didn't see any fishermen or trading of supplies on the beach.
