Probably not as the exhibition is largely exhibits which are explained through an audio guide. Having said this, you could take a very quick tour through without the audio guide, and allow yourself (and your toddler) to be fascinated by some of Singapore's Chinese History.

Yes there are a few books and postcards, but not a shop as such. As others have mentioned, buy a museum book as it will tell you the story of what you've seen.
