Hi! I'm planning to stay in SF and take a day trip to Carmel-by-the-Bay and Big Sur. How many hours was your trip and is 1 day enough to cover both Carmel and Big Sur? Hi, My trip lasted around six hours and we went quite far south. I found the road very smooth but as it follows the coast line, it obviously swerves occasionally. No hairpin turns, though. If I were you, I'd contact Dave directly as he will plan your trip according to your needs anyway. I'm not familiar with the motion sickness but am sure Dave will tell you whether your son could do the trip or not. I hope so as the scenery is fantastic.
