Wow! This is such a great family friendly place to go. We enjoyed being able to see the Alligator feed. Love that it is kid friendly. Has play ground, snack bar was good too. Pretzels to lunch foods. Full review by Holly V

Very nice zoological park with lots of alligators, various birds, reptiles, and other animals. The park is nicely laid out, with places to get food, planned feedings or talks, and a gift shop. There… Full review by Bean-Buggles

I would say 3 hours if you have limited time. But check what time are the feedings, you definitely want to see that. You can walk to the lighthouse afterwards too.
does this place have the the horrible "shows" with people putting their head, arms, etc. in the alligator mouths or is this more of a zoo intended for education and preservation? thanks!
Hello, I am a photographer and am interested in visiting the Alligator Farm. My question is how accessible the animals and birds are to photograph....meaning would I be shooting through fences or other obstructions, or are they fairly out in the open? Also, what is the best time of year to come, or is there a best time? I'm mostly interested in birds rather than alligators. Thanks, Christal Steele

The Alligator Farm is a photographer’s dream! The best time for bird photography is during the nesting time, which is roughly March - May. The birds come to build their nests in the trees above the huge alligator ponds. There is no netting or bars to mar your photographs and the birds are there ‘voluntarily’ - they can fly in and out and are not captive. Beautiful snowy egrets, roseate spoonbills, herons, etc. Enjoy!
